The Quantum Engineering Technologies Labs (QETLabs), at the University of Bristol, is hiring a Research Engineer in Software Engineering for Quantum Cryptography in Networks to work as part of the Quantum Communications Hub.
Applications are welcomed from talented software engineers with experience in developing secure communications and network applications. The post holder will apply their skills to help in the development of quantum photonic communication and quantum key distribution (QKD) technologies. Key project areas will be software for entanglement networks, free space QKD and satellite QKD. This opportunity is suitable for both recently qualified post-doctoral researchers and applicants that are more experienced.
As a member of the QETLabs you will contribute to the team at Bristol working on quantum communications networking. This project feeds into the £24M EPSRC-funded Quantum Technologies Hub in Quantum Communications, and as a result, you will have the opportunity to work with theoretical and experimental researchers within the university, as well as external collaborators and industrial partners.
This position is full-time (flexible working options are considered) and is open ended to 30th November 2022 with possibility of extension subject to future funding.
